Summary of Super Wild Card Weekend

Alright so I got some things wrong and a few things absolutely correct.

I didn’t count on Joe Flacco running out of magic, so that was tough to see unfold in real time, but on the other sideline I think we witnessed a true, bonafide star being made. CJ Stroud is a beast, I think him and DeMeco Ryans are building something worthwhile in Houston.

I got the Chiefs game right! I think that the Chiefs will continue to play better along with the conditions they play in moving forward this postseason. As for the Dolphins, I’m not so sold on Tua, not entirely sold on McDaniels, and that hurts to say because they’re both likable guys. It just troubles me to see a team being so tied into what weather they’re playing in, if the Dolphins are playing outside of Miami they’re like a fish out of water. You certainly don’t want to see that in an American Football team at the professional level.

The Dallas Cowboys let down all of humanity. All of America. Mankind and the good-hearted, sober, god-fearing, law-abiding citizens of our planet put all their faith in the ability to exterminate what was put in front of them and they not only failed but got flat-out SMOKED.

I don’t wanna say this out loud but Jordan Love played very well and LaFleur proved why he is a top coach. He puts his players in the best position to succeed and I’m very scared.

The game in Detroit did not disappoint! This game really came down to who was going to make a play or a stand in the waning moments. I’m pretty surprised Sean McVay didn’t try to cut down to a closer “4th & Manageable” scenario before ultimately punting the game away. The Lions deserve to see success and the city of Detroit is currently America’s sweetheart. The added layer being Jared Goff’s revenge… how sweet it must feel!

In the snow globe of Orchard Park, NY, the Buffalo Bills never fail to make it interesting, huh? There is no planet where, realistically, they should be defending a one-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter, right? I was amazed to find them in that position. They did score a late TD to pull ahead and end the sweating, but they sure do feel like they played with their food a bit. I think if they are able to keep up their effort and stomp out the opposition, they truly do deserve to have that #2 seed.

And finally, another comeback storyline, my late-season fantasy MVP: COOKer Mayfield! Played a good game, didn’t lose it for his team, and ultimately the Birds showed their true colors: puke green. The safety was the ultimate chef’s kiss on what became a delicacy of a season for the Philly hater (of which there are many). The Bucs are looking good and they should also feel good to be in this position after losing their Hall of Fame QB.

4 for 6 ain’t bad! I’ll drop another blog tomorrow or Saturday before the games with my next round predictions.
