The 2023 Chicago Bears are already a FAILURE

I’ve been watching football on a sub-par level for decades. I’m a lifelong Bears fan, I still check the score of my high school team every Friday, of which there have been a few winless seasons, and although San Diego State generally runs the Mountain West most years since I began my time as a student, they aren’t exactly a show-stopping exposition that’ll captivate an audience. I like to consider myself a pretty loyal fan, one that sticks through rough years and will fire back at people chirping about my teams in spite of not having a stick to hold onto.

I walked out on this game. Went to Costco and sat in line for gas, got a car wash, picked up some groceries at Trader Joe’s, all in silence after witnessing what could possibly be a new all-time low as a fan of this god-forsaken team. I’ve matured in the sense that I won’t be throwing anything in my rage or cuss at the top of my lungs, but do not less this fool you - I’m @#$&ing pissed. I haven’t felt this upset about anything since *checks notes* the LAST TIME we lost to this STUPID team!!

I have enough perspective to still confidently say that this game says more about the Bears than it does about the other team. They still won’t be what they’ve been the past 3 decades. This team came out flat, unmotivated, lazy and uninspired. I’m not interested in ‘learning experiences’ anymore Coach, the time to tank was last year!! What are these quick screens and sweeps that we’re running to unsecured boundaries?? Why are our receivers not dedicated to making good blocks on those jet screens!!??? That’s not going to work!!

I’m growing increasingly skeptical of Fields as the QB1 as well. It’s year 3 and you’re not throwing past 10 yards down the field?? Bro, like, what?? I understand there is fault on the OC for not calling plays or adjusting to soft spots in coverage, but to see such a lack of confidence is terrifying, if I’m being honest. If you’re not gonna be the guy, then what are we doing here?? We got a WR1 for you, do you maybe wanna throw it to him sometimes? The running aspect isn’t always going to work on a defense that is capable of containing that, so what then?? Its time to poop or get off the toilet!!

Defense was right where I expected it to be, the line had no push, no adjustments, no skill, no amount of disruption or any sort of presence at all. Our DC, Williams, has shown absolutely no ability to scheme up any blitzes, stunts or creativity to give his own players or the ones on the offensive side a measly chance at succeeding. Not sure where all the money for those great LBs went or how that got used today, I didn’t see much of them on the field this afternoon.

This weekend set the franchise back another 5 years. I was absolutely wrong about this team, and its very possible that we’ll have two top 10 picks in this year’s draft. Should we honestly just tank again? I’m sick of seeing those idiots with the poop-eating grins and the STUPID cheese hats hold their semi-annual Super Bowl win over us. I wish them nothing but the absolute worst!! I don’t care how that makes me look or sound! They can keep crowning themselves and sing their STUPID little pea-brained song all they want, they glorify winning against a loser franchise that hasn’t proved that they care about winning for the past 40 years.

I hate sports so much.
